Street Connect

Julie McAddock

Julie is Co-Founder of a Charity called Street Connect and has been involved since its conception in 2013. Due to her own experience with addiction issues Julie believes in the power of Jesus Christ to set people free. The vision for the work began out of Julie’s passion to see a work developed amongst women on the streets of Glasgow city centre. Julie works alongside her husband Ricky and have saw the work grow over the past 10 years to both women and men in addiction. Together they have 4 children and oversee the growing work of Street Connect. Julie is going to share how she came through a period of darkness and now lives as a testimony of what God can do when we call on His name.

Freedom City

Ally MacPhee

Alistair was brought up in the South Side of Glasgow, he became involved with gangs as a teenager and had been written off at school. He was then introduced to drugs, which was the start of a journey into a life of crime and addiction. Drug dealing and prison became a normal part of his life. Then one day while using drugs in a flat in Glasgow, everything changed when he picked up a book that had been sitting on a table.

Betel Community

Jimmy Wield

Rescued from a crazy life of violence and addiction, Jimmy & his wife, Tanya, work as pastors in the Betel community, leading Betel’s work in Motherwell, just outside of Glasgow, Scotland. The joy they possess is evident and infectious as they establish a culture of hope and restoration for recovering men and women.

Matt Fortherinham

Matt first encountered God at 13 but didn’t continue to walk with God. 30 years later when addicted to multiple substances, suffering from psychosis, suicidal, totally broken having lost everything, busted, disgusted and not to be trusted, a total shell of a man, he finally surrendered, went to Rehab and made Jesus Christ Lord of his life.
Now 4.5 years clean and sober he has been restored to his family, and works full time in recovery and volunteer with Christ Centred Recovery organisations.
